Scream is one of the coolest but most pointless Windows applications I’ve seen.
It listens to you through your computer’s microphone. If it hears a loud noise (e.g. you screaming, moaning, having an angry outburst), it’ll shuffle around your windows in response. The louder you scream, the more your windows get disrupted.
According to the Scream website, it can also be used with "door slams, domestic disputes, and police helicopters". Or it could be used as an interesting music visualization tool. Or create a piece of modern art by singing YMCA down your microphone and screencasting your computer.
An interesting idea could be to "web 2.0"-ify this application and to allow your screams to be shared with other users over the internet. Though you could probably do that with Skype anyway.
If you can’t imagine Scream in action, there are some videos on the Scream website and Youtube.
