According to Internet News, Google and Sun Microsystems will be holding a press conference today which is to bring StarOffice to Google users.
StarOffice is based on the open sourced OpenOffice.org. The suite contains applications such as word processing and spreadsheets which directly compete with Microsoft Office.
It seems like Google wants to build an alternative to Microsoft Office, striking left, right and centre at Microsoft. They have recently released instant messengers, photo organizers, desktop search tools and have been rumoured to be building an operating system.
It should be interesting to see how this works out.
