No more Google betas!

Nice! It looks like Google has begun to remove the Beta label from many of it’s products and started to use the "Labs" label. All their Labs products have the green l (for money) with a green beaker.

At least they’re not abusing the Beta term anymore; the Labs term seems much more accurate.

Some products such as Gmail, Groups and Toolbar still have the Beta label. I wonder if this is because these products are more developed and closer to "Stable" than the others and whether Google sees their "Labs" products as alphas.

A lot of people have been linking to Google’s new Trends feature recently. I don’t like it. It seems utterly useless and the statistics it produces aren’t even that useful. There are no exact figures and there are much better ways of winning or losing an argument.

  1. I’m a huge fan of Firefox, so it comes as a huge bonus to know that 2.0 will offer me extra features.

IE seems to have become stuck in a rut, possibly waiting until Vista is released.
